Richard Lim is the Senior Consultant Psychotherapist with TASE and The Relational in Singapore. His specialty is in the application of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approach in creating practical insights on the challenges that clients face in order to facilitate resolution. Since 2001, Richard has worked with close to a thousand couples and individuals in therapy and coaching in Jakarta and Singapore. His emphasis is cognitive clarity and performance with effective emotional regulation. He conducts psychotherapy in English or Chinese. His other preferred approach also includes the application of gestalt and psychodrama techniques that greatly enhance self-awareness and regulation. Richard also actively runs group works that involves psychological processing in the community and various organizations. Richard has given frequent media interviews on his professional works to The Straits Time, FM93.8Live and local and overseas TV programs.

Beside therapeutic consultation, Richard provides leadership training and consultancy to groups within public and private sector organizations. Most of these training and consultancy focus on enhancing knowledge and skills in relationship, communication, group facilitation, wellness, counseling and conflict management.

Richard has worked with groups of staff from multi-national companies like Microsoft, Coca Cola (Indonesia), SIA, OCBC, Continental Automotive, Shell, Lucent Technologies, Motorola, Barclays Capital, National Panasonic, Fujitsu,

Courts; International agencies like The Salvation Army, YMCA, Outward Bounds and World Vision; local government organizations and community institutions such as Ministry of Community, Youth & Sports, NIE, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Trade & Industry, National Environment Agency, National Council of Social Services, Singapore Sports Council, People’s Association, National Centre for Leadership Institute; and academic institutions like National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, National Institute of Education, BINUS and various Polytechnics. He was an Adjunct Lecturer at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Nanyang Business School on management and leadership.

Richard is the current President of the Psychotherapy Association of Singapore and an advanced doctoral candidate in the Professional School of Psychology, California. Richard graduated from the Graduate School of Medical Studies, National University of Singapore. Richard enjoys travels and retreats where he could stay mindful and at peace.
